Linda Community School provides for children who cannot attend local government schools for economic or social reasons. It has a higher than average population of vulnerable students including a significant number of double orphans. Under the leadership of dynamic Headteacher, Doreen Nzila, huge transformation is happening. Doreen’s vision is that the school becomes a centre of academic excellence to give these children the best possible start in life.
However, there is no secondary provision within Linda Township. Gaining a grade 12 certificate is essential for securing a job or having the opportunity to go to college. Children who leave education at grade 9 have little prospect of employment and face a life of poverty and all the risks that entails in a country where there is no state provision.
Now VisionZambia wants to give these children a better future by building a secondary school for Linda starting in January 2019.
Your support for this campaign will change these children’s lives.
